Cotton terry sleep surface

The top face is looped cotton terry, the same fiber as a bath towel but woven flat and thin. It absorbs a spill on contact instead of letting it bead and run toward the seams, and it feels like fabric under your fitted sheet — not like a liner.

Hidden waterproof membrane

Bonded under the terry is a thin polyurethane membrane. Liquid stops there, full stop — perspiration, a knocked-over glass, a pet accident. Air still passes through it, which is why the bed does not sleep hotter with the protector on.
